\r\nPSC to Begin Hearings on Georgia Power Company Eighth Semi-Annual Nuclear\r\nConstruction Project Monitoring\r\n<\/H3>\r\nAtlanta, July 15, 2013 \u2013 The Georgia Public Service Commission (Commission) will begin its first set of hearings on July 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. on the Georgia Power Company Eighth Semi-Annual Nuclear Construction Projection Monitoring,\r\n\r\nDocket 29849<\/a>. The hearing will take place in Room 110 at the Commission offices at 244 Washington Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia 30334.The hearing will continue, if necessary, at 10 a.m. on Friday July 19, 2013. Additional hearings are scheduled for August 13-14, 2013 and September 12, 2013. \r\n

\r\nThe Commission will begin by receiving the testimony of any public witnesses pursuant to O.C.G.A. \u00a7 46-2-59(g). \r\nImmediately following public witnesses, the Commission will hear \r\napplications to intervene and any objections thereto, and any motions concerning the utilities pre-filed testimony and other appropriate motions. \r\nFollowing these preliminary matters, the \r\nCommission will conduct hearings on the direct case of Georgia Power. \r\n

\r\nThe schedule in this docket is as follows:\r\n\r\n
July 18-19, 2013 \r\nGeorgia Power presents direct testimony \r\n
August 2, 2013 \r\nAll other parties file direct testimony \r\n
August 13-14, 2013 \r\nHearing on Staff and intervenor testimony \r\n
August 30, 2013 \r\nGeorgia Power files rebuttal testimony or amended application \r\n
September 12, 2013 \r\nHearing on Georgia Power rebuttal testimony\/amended application \r\n
September 27, 2013 \r\nAll parties may file briefs and\/or proposed orders \r\n
October 15, 2013 \r\nCommission issues decision at regular Administrative Session \r\n<\/td><\/tr>\r\n<\/table>\r\n

\r\nUnder Georgia law, the Commission must issue a decision in this Docket within 180 days of the payment of the filing fee or the Company\u2019s filing takes effect as a matter of law (OCGA \u00a746-3A- 09(c).) The statutory deadline in this Docket is October 28, 2013. \r\n
