\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nDidn’t know the county had a bus system?\r\n\r\nIt does<\/a>; you can call\r\n\r\n316-2153<\/a> and they’ll pick you up for a flat fee.\r\nThe county’s contract with the state Department of Transportation\r\nand with the contractor\r\n\r\nMIDS, Inc.<\/a> was reapproved\r\nat\r\n\r\nthe 25 June Regular Session of the Lowndes County Commission.<\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe contract is with GADOT, and\r\nthe contractor is MIDS, Inc.\r\nPer Commissioner Joyce Evans’ request of the previous morning,\r\nCounty Engineer Joe Pritchard said there had been\r\n12,322 trips with six buses over the past 5 months.\r\n

\r\nThe County Engineer referred to\r\n\r\nsome discussion of the previous morning<\/a>,\r\nThe Engineer said the federal government put in the first $220,000,\r\nand while the county had to pick up any shortfalls,\r\nthere have been no shortfalls over the past twelve years.\r\nThis is different from County Manager Joe Pritchard’s\r\nanswer of the previous morning that it “has been budgeted”.\r\nAt least staff managed to come up with budget detail\r\nafter being asked in public by Commissioners.\r\nNo questions.\r\nUnanimous approval.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
