\nAccording to the Chamber’s\n\nfacebook event:<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber will host a Meet the Candidates\nevent on Tues. Oct. 2 from 5-7 p.m. at the VSU Continuing Education\nBuilding located on 903 N. Patterson Street.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe event is an opportunity for the public to meet and hear from\ncontested candidates running in the Nov. 6 general election.\nAttendees can speak one-on-one with candidates and candidates will\nbe given three minutes to discuss his or her main initiatives.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThe election is quickly approaching and it is important to\nknow who i s on the ballot and their stance on key issues. This\nevent provides a way for the public to have personal interaction\nwith the future decision-makers of our community,\u201d said Chair\nof the Chamber’s Government Affairs Council, Ron Borders (Real\nLiving Realty Advisors).\n<\/p>\n

\nAttendees should look forward to meeting the following candidates:\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

  • \nSheriff: Chris Prine (D) Incumbent and J.D. Yeager (R)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nCounty Commission Chair: Bill Slaughter (R) and Gretchen Quarterman (D)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nCounty Commission Super District 4: John Gates (R) and Demarcus Marshall (D)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nState Senate, District 8: Tim Golden (R) Incumbent and Bikram Mohanty (D)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nState Representative, District 174: Ellis Black (R) Incumbent and Teresa Lawrence (D)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nState Representative, District 175: Amy Carter (R) Incumbent and JC Cunningham (D)\n<\/li>\n
  • \nState Representative, District 177: Glenn Gregory (R) and Dexter Sharper (D\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
