\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n“Hopefully” there will be four town hall meetings before\r\nthe final SPLOST lists are settled, said\r\nLowndes County Commissioner Joyce Evans (District 1)\r\nat last night’s\r\n\r\nLowndes County Democratic Party<\/a> Annual 4th of July Barbecue.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

\r\nWe’re beginning to put things together for the SPLOST.\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"Joyce<\/a>\r\nHopefully we’ll be able to do several….\r\nI know the mayor has stated that they were going to do\r\ntwo town hall meetings and the county’s going to do\r\na couple of town hall meetings and then we’re going to come together\r\nwith the information that we’ve received from the community\r\nand go and put together an overall SPLOST\r\nfor the city and the county.\r\n

\r\nSo please, take time, think about it, and be involved.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nWe shall see.\r\nAt least it’s a small change in the old boy backroom behavior so popular among elected officials around here\r\nthat the famously reclusive commissioner said this in front of a video camera.\r\n
