{"id":4394,"date":"2013-06-28T09:25:54","date_gmt":"2013-06-28T13:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/?p=4394"},"modified":"2013-06-28T09:29:21","modified_gmt":"2013-06-28T13:29:21","slug":"valdosta-home-repair-grant-assistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/06\/valdosta-home-repair-grant-assistance.html","title":{"rendered":"Valdosta home repair grant assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\r\nIs your home unsafe?\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/98706376@N00\/9159553198\/sizes\/z\/\" title=\"DRA Map\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5549\/9159553198_dc8718a0d8_m.jpg\" alt=\"DRA Map\"><\/a>\r\nIf you live in certain parts of Valdosta, you may be able to get a grant\r\nto help fix that.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nPR from the City of Valdosta, 27 June 2013,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdostacity.com\/Index.aspx?page=270&#038;recordid=2416&#038;returnURL=%2findex.aspx\">\r\nCity Helps Valdosta Home Owners Apply for Grant Funding for Home Repairs<\/a>\r\n<blockquote>\r\nFrom July 1 to August 15, 2013, the City of Valdosta Neighborhood\r\nDevelopment Division will be accepting applications for owner-occupied\r\nhome rehabilitation grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.\r\nValdosta home owners who qualify as low to moderately-low income\r\nresidents (according to HUD FY 2013 Income Limits) may be eligible to\r\nuse this grant funding to make much-needed home repairs.\r\n<p>\r\nGrants are limited to home repairs which cost under $10,000, and each\r\napplicant must meet the following criteria:<!--more-->\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>         Home must be located in the city\u2019s Designated Revitalization Area (DRA).\r\n<li>         Applicant must be the legal owner of record of the home.\r\n<li>         Applicant must provide proof of income and residency.\r\n<li>         Property taxes and insurance must be current.\r\n<li>         Repairs must improve and\/or remedy unsafe living conditions\r\n   (e.g. roof repairs, electrical\/plumbing updates, repairs to\r\n   floors\/structural members, etc.).\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\nRehabilitation grants will be awarded to homeowners who can fulfill the\r\naffordability period necessary for residency in the home.  The\r\naffordability period for this program is five years.
