retreat.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rQzAPcdsejE\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"390\" width=\"480\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nYou remember,\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nthe\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/04\/commissioners-panic-about-trash-at-undisclosed-location-lcc-2012-03-31.html\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" class=\"at-xid-6a0120a58214e4970b017ee409f405970d\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b017ee409f405970d-pi.jpg\"   width=\"120\" height=\"92\"  \/><\/a>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/04\/commissioners-panic-about-trash-at-undisclosed-location-lcc-2012-03-31.html\">\nretreat at an undisclosed location back in March.<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nThat was after they discussed solid waste disposal at\ntheir backroom closed meeting\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/got-trash-need-disposal-good-luck.html\">24 May 2011.<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nThen they cancelled their 21 May 2012 Work Session\nand instead held an <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/waste-disposal-decided-at-stealth-lowndes-county-commission-meeting-lcc-2012-06-04.html\">unscheduled 4 June meeting<\/a> in which according to the VDT\nthey decided that waste disposal site cards would be for six months,\ninstead of the former 12 months.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nThen in June\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/waste-disposal-again-joe-pritchard-lcc-2012-06-12.html\">\nPritchard announced<\/a>\nthat decision.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nAlthough I don&#8217;t recall it being there last night when I picked up\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/10\/a-rezoning-wastewater-pump-repair-solid-waste-rfp-and-community-planning-month-lcc-2012-10-08.html\">\nthe agenda<\/a>,\nthe RFP is now\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lowndescounty.com\/content\/welcome\/m29\/misc\/2012%20rfp%20-%20solid%20waste%20rfp%2008%2024%2012.pdf\">\nlinked into<\/a> the county&#8217;s front web page\n(copy\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/waste\/\">\non the LAKE website<\/a>).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAt this morning&#8217;s meeting,\nKevin Beals,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/georgiapublicnotice.com\/pages\/full_story\/push?article-REQUEST+FOR+PROPOSALS+++FOR+++RESIDENTIAL+SOLID+WASTE-+BULKY+ITEMS-+YARD+WASTE-+AND+RECYCLABLE+MATERIALS+COLLECTION-+TRANSPORTATION+AND+DISPOSAL-+COLLECTION+CENTER+MANAGEMENT+AND+RELATED+CUSTOMER+SERVICE-+RECORDS-+BILLING+AND+PAYMENT+PROCESSING%20&amp;id=19916958\">\nLowndes County Development Reviewer,<\/a>\naddressed the Commissioners and\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mT5LysB4c9w\">\nsaid,<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\nWe&#8217;ve got a tremendous response from the solid waste community.\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nHe said nothing about any response from the rest of the community,\nsuch as you and me, or the numerous users of the current county\nwaste disposal sites.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHe proceeded to go through a spreadsheet of the 20 or so questions from\nthe RFP.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mT5LysB4c9w\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"390\" width=\"480\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<small>\nWaste disposal railroad by County Commission Part 2 of 2:\n<br \/>\nWork Session, Lowndes County Commission (LCC),\n<br \/>\nVideo by Gretchen Quarterman for Lowndes Area Knowledge Exchange (LAKE), Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, 8 October 2012.\n<\/small>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBeals noted in addition to spelling out what they wanted, the county\nalso asked for the respondants to come up with their own proposals.\nThat was probably a good idea, but where are any of these proposals\nso we the taxpaying and waste-disposal-card-buying public can see them?\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWell, I guess you can talk about it in the public hearing.\nOh, wait!
