\n<\/a> The big news\nwas the\nwaste disposal railroad,<\/a> but the Lowndes County Commission also\nheard about three water issues (one a rezoning), plus a beer\nlicense, revenue bonds, community planning month, and a health fair\nat its Work Session this morning.<\/p>\n

        \nPump 1 repair cost $15,907, and pump 2 $32,115. Commissioner Raines<\/strike> Powell\nwanted to know about warranties. Answer: new pump 1 year, rebuilt\npump 90 days.<\/li>\n
      2. \nAlapaha Waterline size Increase<\/a>
        \nA developer is extending a water line for two houses, and Mike\nAllen would like to increase the size of the water main leading to\nit. Cost not stated.<\/li>\n
      3. \nBeer License \u2014 Naylor’s Pantry \u2014 8777 E. Hwy\n135<\/a>
        \nStephanie Black described the request. Commissioner Joyce Evans\nexpressed concern about nearby churches.<\/li>\n
      4. \nRefunding Revenue Bonds<\/a>
        \nThe speaker (?) clarified that no new debt was being created. The\ncounty is merely refinancing existing bonds. He said two months ago\nhe estimated savings at $1,400,000. Friday that number had gone up\nto $1,675,000.<\/li>\n
      5. Solid Waste\nManagement Request for Proposal<\/a>
        \nThey vote tomorrow on something not discussed in public, with no\npublic hearing, that will raise rates. Follow the link for\ndetails.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

        1. \nCommunity Planning Month Proclamation<\/a>
          \nCounty Planner Jason Davenport said October is community planning\nmonth, joint with Valdosta. He supplied the Commission with a list\nof event dates and places. He didn’t show them to the public, but\n          they’re\nalready on the Valdosta City website.<\/a><\/li>\n
        2. \nEmployee Health Fair<\/a>
          \nJoe Pritchard said last week they had a health fair, and asked\nSuzanne (last name unstated) to talk about that.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        3. Citizens Wishing to be Heard Please State Name And Address
          \nThat’s only in the Regular Session, which is tomorrow evening at\n5:30 PM.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nThen they went into an unscheduled           \nexecutive session for client\/attorney privilege.<\/a><\/blockquote>\n
