Kidd noted\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/06\/videos-of-ga-psc-on-georgia-power-coal-plant-closings-ga-psc-2013-06-18.html#IRP\">\r\ncoal Blant Branch closing<\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/98706376@N00\/9093029280\/sizes\/z\/\" title=\"Rep. Rusty Kidd and Press\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3673\/9093029280_f6b68a987a_n.jpg\" alt=\"Rep. Rusty Kidd and Press\"><\/a>\r\nwould have substantial economic effect on Putnam County.\r\nHe said one of his friends was selling his house on Lake Sinclair\r\nbecause he knew Putnam County taxes would be going up.\r\nRep. Kidd urged the Commission to have Georgia Power use\r\nthe land of Plant Branch for solar energy.\r\nHe also noted that the more coal plants that closed,\r\nthe more natural gas would have a monopoly,\r\nand then he expected the price of natural gas to go up.\r\nSo he concluded by urging GA PSC to have Georgia Power\r\nput solar power on the Plant Branch property in the near future.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nHere&#8217;s\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vwv9gH-I46I&#038;t=18s\">\r\nthe video:<\/a><!--more-->\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vwv9gH-I46I?list=PLshUv86fYkiFU0cmuLEetkftFsBG2DQkV\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nCommissioner Stan Wise wanted to make it clear he opposed\r\nthe closing of all the coal plants, and they weren&#8217;t singling out\r\nPutnam County.\r\nRep.
