\nWho would understand base politics better than Jack Kingston?\n<\/p>\n

\n\n\"Jack<\/a>\n“I think for base politics, the red meat Democrats, the red meat Republicans, they like to see a good squabble and they saw one.”\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nKingston,\n\nwho lapped up Moody Air Force Base with his green tongue.<\/a>\nHe left out the rest of Lowndes County, so he’s barely local anymore.\nBut two others on WCTV last night are local.\n<\/p>\n

\nEames Yates wrote for WCTV yesterday,\n\nEmotions of Local Politicians and Voters Run High After Debate<\/a>,\n<\/p>\n

\n\n\"Laverne<\/a>\nLaverne Lewis Gaskins is with Obama For America. She said “it was a\ndecisive victory for President Obama. I think he was clear in his\nmessage. He was able to articulate the future that he has for\nAmerica.”\n<\/p>\n

\nCongressman Kingston said “I really think it was a tie. I would like\nto say that Romney won, but I have to say I think Obama won on some\nquestions.”\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nThat’s Jack-speak for he would like to say that, but he can’t, because\nhe knows it’s not true.\nLaverne was more straightforward. So was Gretchen:\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\nOne topic that did emerge in the debate was women’s health and the\nability to publicly fund birth control.\n<\/p>\n

\n\n\"Gretchen<\/a>\nGretchen Quarterman is with the Lowndes County Democratic Party. She\nsaid “President Obama understands that women need to be in charge of\nthemselves. In charge of their bodies, in charge of the decisions\nthat they make for themselves.”\n<\/p>\n

\nCongressman Kingston said “birth control is such really a non issue,\nto the degree where it’s about nine dollars a month. Women can\nafford their own birth control.”\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nHm, looks like local women can speak for themselves.\n<\/p>\n
