Under<br \/>\nHarrell&#8217;s leadership, the city also constructed a $2 million<br \/>\nstate-of-the-art recycling center expanding services while<br \/>\ndramatically reducing the cost of curb-side collection for all<br \/>\nresidents. In addition to his prior service as Mayor, Harrell also<br \/>\nserved as a member of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs<br \/>\nBoard and Chaired the Quality Growth Committee. He also served as a<br \/>\nmember of the Governor&#8217;s Congestion Mitigation Task Force, Executive<br \/>\nDirector of the Evermore Community Improvement District (CID), and a<br \/>\ncharter member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Mayor&#8217;s Association<br \/>\n(MAMA). His wealth of community and governmental knowledge is<br \/>\ngreatly beneficial in growing the Metro Atlanta market area.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nMr. Harrell is actively involved in state and local government and<br \/>\nis running for the District 106 seat of the Georgia State House of<br \/>\nRepresentatives. State<br \/>\nRepresentative Brett Harrell (R-Snellville) was appointed to the<br \/>\nRegulated Industries, Transportation, and Information &#038; Audits<br \/>\ncommittees. Rep. Steve Davis (R-McDonough), chairman of the<br \/>\nInformation &#038; Audits Committee, subsequently named Rep. Harrell<br \/>\nchairman of the General Government Subcommittee on Information and<br \/>\nAudits. Additionally, Rep. Jay Roberts (R-Ocilla), chairman of the<br \/>\nHouse Transportation Committee, placed Rep.
