Google Fiber head Milo Medin countered that\r\nperception at an event on Wednesday, however. Speaking at a\r\nFiber-to-the-Home Council meeting, the executive explained that the\r\ncompany&#8217;s fiber-optic broadband network isn&#8217;t just an expensive\r\nresearch project but a great and profitable business for Google,\r\nCNET reported.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nMedin noted that Google has kept costs down by partnering with\r\ncities that are interested in bringing the company&#8217;s gigabit fiber\r\nnetwork to its residents.
