\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nA veteran said he was concerned about losing our freedoms\r\nright here in Lowndes County because of the Commissions’\r\nrecent trash collection decisions,\r\nin yesterday’s\r\n\r\nRegular Session of the Lowndes County Commission<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nExcerpts from what Carl Johnson Jr. said:\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"Carl<\/a>\r\nAs I drove into town today I drove by… Brown’s produce.\r\nRight across the way was Mr. Carter’s produce.\r\nBoth of them same business.\r\nWhy not just take Mr. Carter’s business,\r\nand say, well, we’re going to give it all to Mr. Brown….\r\nWe think it’s in the best interests of the county.\r\nThat’s not the American way of life.\r\nCompetition in everything is the strength of America….\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"Walter<\/a>\r\nHe said he didn’t know the intricacies of the law,\r\nbut he asked the Commission to reconsider.\r\nAttorney for Lowndes County Walter Elliott looked on stone-faced.\r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard, as usual, paid no attention to citizen speakers.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
