\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nFast as a speeding “next” until the juvenile court judge\r\nshowed up and asked for help getting a grant to save money\r\nby putting fewer children in jail.\r\nOne candidate for a board showed up (late) to speak,\r\nand I continue to predict\r\n\r\nhe’ll be reappointed tonight<\/a>:\r\nthat’s when they vote:\r\ntonight at 5:30PM in the Regular Session.\r\nMeanwhile, here are videos of this morning’s\r\nLowndes County Commission Work Session.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      \r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard said\r\nRandall Crews had asked consideration to be reappointed,\r\nand Commissioners could see two\r\nmore names, but he didn’t deign to tell the public who they might be.\r\nCrews wasn’t there then, but he did\r\nspeak later<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      1. \r\n\r\nGEMA Sheltering Memorandum of Agreement<\/a>\r\n

        \r\nEmergency Director Ashley Tye said it was about renewing\r\nan agreement to provide a place for evacuees from the coast to go.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      2. \r\n\r\n2013 Juvenile Justice Incentive Grant Program Application <\/a>\r\n

        \r\nThis is about a potential new grant Emergency Director Ashley Tye said\r\nhe had been working on with Judge Council, applying to the\r\n\r\nJuvenile Justice Incentive Grant Program<\/a>:\r\nsee\r\n\r\nseparate post<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      3. \r\n\r\nDepartment of Transportation Right of Way Mowing <\/a>\r\n

        \r\nCommissioner Crawford Powell wanted to know for the $2500 per mile\r\nper year how many cuttings a year that would accomplish.\r\nPublilc Works Director Robin Cumbus said about four, maybe five.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      4. \r\n\r\nReports-County Manager<\/a>\r\n

        \r\n<\/a>\r\nCouunty Manager had no direct report, but said Randy Crews\r\nhad “joined the meeting” and wondered if Commissioners had any\r\nquestions for him.\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter invited Crews up to speak.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
