\nand you don’t get to see them.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe other of two applicants showed up to speak at the
\n
\nLowndes County Commission Regular Session 14 May 2013<\/a>.
\nChairman Bill Slaughter said:\n<\/p>\n

\nCommissioners in your packets you should see applications from
\ntwo potential appointees.
\nYou’ve had a chance to review those.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nThe public, as usual, did not see those applications.
\nNor do I recall seeing a list from the county of available appointments.
\nAt least we sometimes get to see the applicants speak, which, if I recall correctly,
\nwas Joyce Evans’ idea.\n<\/p>\n

\nI believe we had an opportunity to hear from Mr. Sykes yesterday;
\nis that correct.
\nThe other applicant is Mr. Kevin McCraney.
\nI think at this time I’d like to call on Mr. McCraney if he’d like
\nto come forward and make a statement.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAt the Tuesday Regular Session,
\nKevin McCraney said he’s on the Chamber of Commerce Board;
\nhe’s helping the airport start a flying club;
\nhe’s well aware of how import the airport is to the economy of the entire region;
\nand he’s very committed to helping the regional economy,
\nnot only as external affairs manager for Georgia Power,
\nbut in many other ways.
\nHe’s also on the VSU Foundation Board and the Wiregrass Tech board.
\nHe said he thought the Commission had a tough choice between him
\nand Mr. Sykes.
\nThe Commissioners apparently didn’t think so;
\nthey quickly appointed Mr. Sykes unanimously.\n<\/p>\n
