\n\n\"Amendment<\/a>\nThe\n\nother ALEC amendment, on multi-year contracts,<\/a>\npassed by\n\nan even wider margin:<\/a>\n2,241,621 to 1,275,809 (63.73% to 36.27%).\nLowndes went for it 20,205 to 14,414 (58.36% to 41.64%).\n<\/p>\n

\nApparently Georgia voters will vote for any old thing that’s\nsubmitted to them as a constitutional amendment.\n<\/p>\n

\n\n\"Esau<\/a>\nCongratulations, ALEC and Wal-Mart!\nYou’ve demonstrated money talks and\n\nslick brochures sell.<\/a>\nThis was even better for you than\n\nALEC’s so-called anti-immigration law<\/a> which the legislature passed\nand\n\nthat actually devastates Georgia agriculture<\/a> for\nthe profit of private prison company CCA.\nThis time you got the people of Georgia to vote directly against\ntheir own best interests to the benefit of school privatizing\ncorporations in Virginia and Michigan!\n<\/p>\n

\nBoo Georgia voters.\nYou’ve just given\n\nthe most corrupt legislature in the country<\/a>\nthe ability\n\nto commit you the taxpayers to contracts for decades.<\/a>\nAnd you’ve just traded your children’s educational birthright\nfor a mess of slick paper.\n<\/p>\n
