Yeager fought a good fight, but the voters said\n63.53% to 36.47% they did not\nwant to go back to the previous administration.\nI look forward to Sheriff Prine continuing to protect the safety of\nall the citizens of Lowndes County, including those in the cities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Gk6kjcJbwU&amp;list=PLshUv86fYkiFN1r3frJ6j5NxTfibnd850&amp;index=6&amp;feature=plpp_video\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" class=\"at-xid-6a0120a58214e4970b017c333394e7970b\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b017c333394e7970b-pi.jpg\"    \/><\/a>\nCongratulations Solicitor General Justin Cabral on retaining your post\n51.56% to 48.44%!\nVery honorable mention to challenger Jason Cain,\nwho canvassed himself pretty close to winning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nCongratulations Joyce Evans\n\n<!--more-->\nfor winning re-election unopposed to County Commssion District 1,\nand to\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/09\/resigning-from-planning-commission-suggest-appoint-jody-hall-john-page-lcc-2012-09-11.html\">\nJohn Page<\/a> for winning his primary and for winning the general election\nunopposed for District 5.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nCongratulations to new County Commission Chairman-elect Bill Slaughter\non winning 53.85% to 46.17% over opponent Gretchen Quarterman.\nSee\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/11\/county-commission-chair-results.html\">\nother post for more information.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd congratulations to all the other unopposed winners.\nAlthough, why is it we have so many unopposed races, anyway?\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/todays-top-stories\/x1095523672\/Schindler-wins-Lake-Park-mayor-race\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" class=\"at-xid-6a0120a58214e4970b017c333394f3970b\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b017c333394f3970b-pi.png\"    \/><\/a>\nLast, but certainly not least, congratulations to\nLake Park former Mayor pro-tem and new Mayor-elect Eric Schindler for winning\nover Michelle Ina Lane 58.31% to 41.69%.\nMaybe this will end\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/todays-top-stories\/x1095523672\/Schindler-wins-Lake-Park-mayor-race\">\nLake Park&#8217;s succession of mayors-of-the-week.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nMayor Schindler won by 51 votes.\nThe more local the election, even more your vote counts.\nAs\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/todays-top-stories\/x1095523672\/Schindler-wins-Lake-Park-mayor-race\">\nthe VDT noted today:<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\nLowndes County enjoyed a turnout of 75.84 percent as 38,829 of it&#8217;s\n51,198 registered voters cast ballots.
