\n\n<\/a>\nA surprising number of questions were asked by Commissioners\nat yesterday morning’s Work Session, yet still nobody asked\nabout the well near\n\none of the proposed rezonings<\/a>.\nWe had a microphone failure during the first few items;\nsound picks up as the Commissioners start asking questions on\n\n5.b. REZ-2013-04<\/a>.\nBecause of the sound glitch\nyou can’t tell that for sure from the videos that nobody discussed SPLOST,\nbut Gretchen was there from call to order to adjournment, and she didn’t hear anything about \nSPLOST<\/a>.\nMaybe they’ll say something about it tonight at their 5:30 PM Regular Session,\nat which they vote on these rezonings and contract.\n<\/p>\n

      2. \n\n<\/a>\n\nREZ-2013-04 Doug Thompson Property, 3432 Bemiss Rd. C-H (conditional) to C-H, Comm. Well &\nComm. Sewer, 1.28 acres<\/a>\n

        \nHere are videos of\n\nthe same case at the Planning Commission.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

        \nCommissioner\nCrawford Powell wondered what were the original reasons\nfor the zoning requirements.\nThe minutes say this was the\nfirst property on this side of the street to ask for commercial zoning\nyet there was no significant public opposition in the minutes,\nalthough there might have been some contact with the\nCommissioners outside the public hearing.\n<\/p>\n

        \nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall\nsaid he received an anonymous call of concern about a night club\nnearby, apparently indicating concern about this property\nmight turn into such.\nCommissioner Powell said they could just line item out night clubs\nand the like.\n<\/p>\n\n<\/a>\n

        \nCommissioner Richard Raines asked if anybody had discussed\nC-G zoning with the applicant.\nDavenport said yes, and he thought the applicant\nwould be happy with that as long as the use restrictions were\nremoved.\nHe discussed a couple of nearby properties with various\ncommercial zoning variants.\n<\/p>\n

        \nNobody mentioned the nearby well.\n<\/p>\n<\/ol>\n

      3. \n\n<\/a>\n\nBid — Land Application Site (LAS) Farm Lease<\/a>\n

        \nThe county spreads liquid waste on a site in the south end\nof the county, and likes to lease it out for a couple of farming\noperations.\n\nUtilties Director Mike Allen<\/a>\nsaid they got\none bid back for hay operation only, not row crops, from\nT and T Farms, aka Rodney Tyree, for $4,110\/year with 0.3% annual\nincrease, for five years with 3 renewable options.\nNobody bid on the row crop.\nSeveral Commissioners asked why no more bids, how long, etc.\nAllen didn’t know why no more bids, and he repeated the above\ninformation on terms.\n<\/p>\n

      4. \n\nReports-County Manager <\/a>\n

        \nThere were no reports, so they adjourned.\n<\/p>\n
