\r\nWe don’t even need new solar innovations\r\n\r\nfor solar to take over most power generation through economies of scale<\/a>,\r\nbut we will start seeing more innovative solar gadgets like this one,\r\nleading to even more distribution of solar power.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nWe have seen a lot of solar chargers in our day. And among all of\r\nthem,\r\n\r\nthis<\/a> is the first one we’ve seen that we will definitely run\r\nout and buy as soon as it’s made available in the U.S. It’s a\r\nportable socket that gets its power from the sun rather than the\r\ngrid. You plug into a window instead of into the wall. It’s easy.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThat was the whole point,\r\n\r\naccording to the designers<\/a>, Kyohu Song and\r\nBoa Oh: “We tried to design a portable socket, so that users\r\ncan use it intuitively without special training,” they write.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nIt’s got solar panels, a plug, and batteries for 10 hours.\r\nIt won’t run your air conditioner, but it will charge your phone.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nHere’s\r\n\r\nanother company’s take on the same idea from last year<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\nyou can buy that one right now<\/a>.\r\nOnly in bulk, apparently.\r\nBut stay tuned: we’ll see more ways to put solar chargers on your window,\r\nyour car’s window, your car, your hat, etc….\r\n<\/p>\r\n
