Tim Golden<\/a> said he and Steve Edwards of ADS went to school\r\ntogether, and he thought this was a good project.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<br>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"Slaughter\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7jnpBEHelgc&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=4\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/7jnpBEHelgc\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lowndescounty.com\/content.asp?pid=22&#038;id=118\">\r\nLowndes County Chairman Bill Slaughter<\/a> asked everyone to take a look\r\nat this project and see if it will work for Lowndes County and\r\nValdosta. He mentioned the basic justification for the project,\r\nwhich is that the gas is being burned anyway as it is flared.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"Gayle\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VGPYMZNpUOI&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=6\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.ytimg.com\/vi\/VGPYMZNpUOI\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&#038;rct=j&#038;q=&#038;esrc=s&#038;source=web&#038;cd=1&#038;ved=0CDMQFjAA&#038;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.valdostacity.com%2FIndex.aspx%3Fpage%3D567&#038;ei=qRxxUb79LI2K9QTfsYCYAg&#038;usg=AFQjCNFBn39BTtxpgNBnlScJzMgj3VGHsg&#038;bvm=bv.45373924,d.eWU\">\r\nValdosta Mayor John Gayle<\/a> said he thought this was a good story, and\r\n<blockquote>\r\nI was looking around the room to see if any of our local media,\r\nbesides the LAKE, was here. Because this is a good story, and I would\r\nhope it would take the place on the front page of some of the\r\nstories that the city&#8217;s been getting.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\nHe was referring to\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/04\/whos-inaccurate-vdt-valdosta-gefa-chamber-county.html\">\r\nthe recent spate of VDT stories about wastewater finances<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"Fifth\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YSEYuQS_b4M&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=7\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/YSEYuQS_b4M\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nDanny Nichols said four previous parties tried to do this landfill\r\ngas energy project, and he thinks ESG can make it work. He\r\nintroduced Christine Keck and Shawn Stancill of ESG.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"ESG\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6GZSpRY4XZs&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=8\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i3.ytimg.com\/vi\/6GZSpRY4XZs\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pub\/christine-keck\/11\/998\/b10\">\r\nChristine Keck, Director of Government Relations, Energy Systems Group (ESG)<\/a>,\r\nsaid the proposal for this project came out in the summer of 2010,\r\nand she praised ESG&#8217;s corporate partners. She gave an overview of\r\nESG with slides: est. 1994, 240 employees, $1.4 billion in projects,\r\netc. Ray Henson is southeast regional director, based in Atlanta. He\r\nand Dwayne Bruns (sp?) will be working on this project.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/profile\/view?id=10311704&#038;authType=NAME_SEARCH&#038;authToken=BsDp&#038;locale=en_US&#038;srchid=3e02e6e5-c3be-40ce-8c1a-867268d20934-0&#038;srchindex=1&#038;srchtotal=2&#038;goback=.fps_PBCK_*1_Shawn_Stancill_*1_*1_*1_*1_*2_*1_Y_*1_*1_*1_false_1_R_*1_*51_*1_*51_true_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2&#038;pvs=ps&#038;trk=pp_profile_name_link\">\r\nShawn Stancill, Performance Engineer, ESG<\/a> said he was responsible for\r\ndesign engineering. He said ESG mostly does landfill gas, although\r\nthey continue to work in &#8220;more traditional&#8221; renewable energy which\r\nhe said were solar and wind. He said this was ESG&#8217;s third landfill\r\ngas project in Georgia and their sixth nationwide. It will produce\r\nenough gas for 4.8 megawatts of power, sufficient to power 2,000\r\nhomes.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"ADS\"><\/a>\r\n<a name=\"Edwards\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QCrO-AGCB90&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=9\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/QCrO-AGCB90\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pub\/steve-edwards\/5\/959\/159\">\r\nSteve Edwards, Atlanta Sales and Marketing for Advanced Disposal Systems (ADS)<\/a>,\r\nsaid he and Tim Golden were fraternity brothers. He said &#8220;you can\r\nhave as much methane as you want; take it all&#8221;. He reminded us ADS\r\nbought Veolia. He said he didn&#8217;t forsee any other acquisitions nor\r\nanybody buying ADS. He said ADS was the largest privately held solid\r\nwaste company in the world.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<a name=\"GreenPower\"><\/a>\r\n<a name=\"Pratt\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0bkCD1iHBbU&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHE_34BfNKt9vASmLhg1Im-&#038;index=11\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.ytimg.com\/vi\/0bkCD1iHBbU\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pub\/jeff-pratt\/13\/a21\/414\">\r\nJeff Pratt<\/a>, President,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenpoweremc.com\/home.aspx\">\r\nGreenPower EMC<\/a>,\r\nmentioned\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/04\/green-power-emc-landfill-gas-projects.html\">\r\nprevious projects<\/a>,\r\nand said with this project his company would have about 40% of the\r\nlandfill gas energy produced in Georgia, which would benefit the\r\nEMCs GreenPower EMC supplies. He compared this project to solar,\r\nsaying it wasn&#8217;t something you&#8217;d drive by and notice, but he said it\r\nwas very green. He gave the reason landfills flare methane: methane\r\nis a much worse greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, so burning CH4\r\nto produce CO2 works. He said the energy produced by this project\r\nwould be the equivalent of about 300 acres of solar panels.\r\n(He didn&#8217;t mention there are only so many landfills, and many more\r\nschool roofs&#8230;.)\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nOther elected officials present who did not speak included\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.house.ga.gov\/representatives\/en-US\/member.aspx?Member=787&#038;Session=23\">\r\nGeorgia Rep.
