\r\nThis is how a city that means business acts:\r\nin public, on TV and on the web, where its citizens can see it\r\nand its citizens can interact.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nNot only is\r\n\r\nLancaster, California moving ahead with solar energy for jobs\r\nand financial benefit<\/a>,\r\nit’s a transparent city:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"City<\/a>\r\nCity Council Meetings are broadcast live on local cable channel 28.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nAnd city council meetings are\r\n\r\narchived for viewing online<\/a>;\r\nvideo of yesterday’s meeting is already up.\r\nThey do require Microsoft Silverlight to view, but nothing’s perfect,\r\nand other cities use YouTube, Vimeo, or other more generally usable methods.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nAnd it’s not just the Lancaster City Council:\r\nvideos of their Planning Commission and numerous other authorities and\r\ncommissions are also on the web.\r\nPlus:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nPUBLIC BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR – AGENDIZED ITEMS<\/H3>\r\n

\r\nCitizens who would like to address the Criminal Justice Commission on\r\nany agendized item may do so when the item is being considered by the\r\nCommission. Please complete a speaker card and identify the agenda item\r\nyou would like to discuss. Individual speakers are limited to three (3)\r\nminutes each.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThen at the end of the meeting, they also<\/em> have:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

PUBLIC BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR – NON-AGENDIZED ITEMS<\/H3>\r\n

\r\nThis portion of the agenda allows an individual the opportunity to\r\naddress the Criminal Justice Commission on any item NOT ON THE\r\nAGENDA. State law prohibits the Commission from taking action on\r\nitems not on the agenda and your matter will be referred to staff.\r\nIndividual speakers are limited to three (3) minutes each.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nApparently Lancaster, CA is not afraid of its own citizens.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
