\nAccording to the Lowndes County Commission’s minutes,\nthe developer for whom the Commission now proposes\nto change the zoning code back in 2007 got $130,000 in road\nconstruction labor from the Commission.\n<\/p>\n

\nIn the\n\n26 June 2007 Lowndes County Commission Regular Session Minutes:<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\nCounty Engineer, Mike Fletcher, presented an item that was brought\nto the Commission during the previous work session regarding the\n\n<\/a>\npaving of Davidson Road. Further, Mr. Clint Joyner was in the\nprocess of building a previously approved development that was being\naffected by an unforeseen Department of Transportation requirement\nregarding a costly intersection improvement. Mr. Fletcher further\nstated that Mr. Joyner was required to pave a portion of Davidson\nRoad; however, due to the intersection cost he was offering to\npurchase the materials for the funding of the entire road, if the\ncounty would provide the road construction labor at a cost of\napproximately $130,000.00. Commissioner Lee made a motion to approve\nthe request, Vice Chairman Carter and Commissioner Roberts offered a\nsecond. Motion carried.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\n<\/a>\nSomebody help me here, is not that the same Clint Joyner back in 2007\ngetting a $130,000 subsidy from the County Commission\nwho last month\n\ngot invited to talk to the Commission in a Work Session<\/a>\nwith nobody else invited to speak?\nThe same one for whom\n\nthe same Commission is now proposing to change the zoning code?<\/a>\nFor another development on the same Davidson Road?\nA development\n\nthe Chamber and Moody and the Planning Commission\nare all opposing,<\/a> while the VDT channels Ashley Paulk in promoting it?\n<\/p>\n

\nWhat is it about this Clint Joyner or Joyner Realty or Davidson Road\nthat the County Commission should favor him or them so?\nIt can’t be the individual Commissioners: not a one of them is the\nsame now from 2007.\nWhat is the same then and now?\n<\/p>\n

\nMaybe we should find out before the Commission grants any more favors.\n<\/p>\n
