\nWhy is Lowndes County Chairman Ashley Paulk decrying alleged privatization\nof Moody Air Force Base while promoting actual privatization\nof a basic Lowndes County public service, trash collection?\n<\/p>\n

\n\n<\/a>\nPaulk alleged Moody’s intervention has prevented development\nbefore\u2014the establishment of a small schoolhouse within a\nchurch near the base, for example, he said. He told the committee\nthat Moody had 30,000 acres to the east on which to build, and that\nthe air base has become “privatized.”\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\n<\/a>\nSeems to me that’s a privatization of one of our own county governmental\nservices.\nPerhaps the commissioners will reconsider the “curbside only\nby a private firm” path they are on and conduct some public hearings in an\neffort to understand what the citizens might want in solid waste disposal.\n<\/p>\n
