A power purchase agreement should also be complete by June 1, 2010. The VLCIA granted an eight month extension for the project to begin construction.\n<\/blockquote>\n(VLCIA is the Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority.\nBrad Lofton is its executive director.)\n<p>\nWe know from previous reports that this wood and sewage sludge\nincinerator is expected to produce a maximum of 25 long-term jobs.\nMany questions were asked at the air quality hearing about particulates,\nCO<sub>2<\/sub>, mercury, and other pollutants.\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2010\/04\/wctv-on-biomass.html\">\nThe answers<\/a> ranged from &#8220;we don&#8217;t monitor that&#8221; to\n\n<!--more-->\n&#8220;we don&#8217;t know how frequently&#8221; to &#8220;I didn&#8217;t bring that with me&#8221;.\nSo the VLCIA is forging ahead with a project with many open health issues;\na project that will produce a maximum of 25 longterm jobs.\nThat&#8217;s without even going into the issues of degradation of local forests\nand the possibility of increased flooding.\n<p>\nIn the same article was this:\n<blockquote>\nPROJECT EARTH\n<p>\nThe project is to construct a 700,000-square-foot vehicle manufacturing facility to build hybrid vehicles, which would create about 450 to 600 new jobs.
