We are building a\nnetwork of community groups to fight the facilities and the corporations\nbehind them.\n<\/blockquote>\nThe detail map shown includes the Wiregrass Power LLC proposed plant\n(the orange oval I just south of Valdosta),\ntwo plants in Hamilton County, Florida\n\n<!--more-->\n(Adage Hamilton and American Renewables &#8211; Hamilton),\none in Waycross (Biomass Georgia),\nand one near Tallahassee (FERCO biomass incinerator).\nZooming in on Tallahassee shows another orange I, for BRI Energy Ethanol.\nBoth the Tallahassee plants are shown right in Tallahassee,\nnot in Gretna, where another was proposed.\n<p>\nThe Waycross plant is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gpb.org\/news\/2010\/03\/24\/groundbreaking-for-waycross-biomass-plant\">\npellet plant<\/a>:\n<blockquote>\nGovernor Sonny Perdue joined other officials Wednesday to get construction rolling on a wood pellet manufacturing plant in Waycross. The facility is a joint venture of a German and Swedish company. Pellets made in Georgia will be exported to Europe.\n<\/blockquote>\nExporting raw materials to burn in another country;\nyou know, like third world countries do.\n<p>\nAccording to Lisa Gibson in Biomass Magazine,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biomassmagazine.com\/article.jsp?article_id=3546\">\nGeorgia Biomass will ship pellets to Europe<\/a>:\n<blockquote>\nOnce operational in early 2011, Georgia Biomass in Waycross, Ga.,\nwill have the capacity to produce 750,000 tons of wood pellets per year from local timber sources.\n<\/blockquote>\nHow many acres of trees will it take to produce those pellets?\nAnd where will all the trees for Waycross, the two plants in Hamilton Co., FL,\nthe one or two in Tallahassee, Plant Mitchell in Albany, and the existing\nLangdale lumber operation in Valdosta and the PCA plant in Clyattville;\nwhere will the wood come from for all these plants?\n<p>\nYes, I know some local foresters claim there&#8217;s plenty of wood.\nWhere&#8217;s the study?\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"For months I&#8217;ve been asking who at least knows where all the biomass plants in Georgia are proposed to be.
