\r\nThe communications tower\r\n\r\nwithdrawn before the May GLPC meeting<\/a>\r\nis back for August 31, 2026.\r\nIt’s still on Old Valdosta Road near Salem Church Road.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nNow they reveal it is for Verizon.\r\nAnd unlike the other recent Verizon case, \r\nTWR-2026-02 from June<\/a>,\r\nthe county included the propagation maps and the certified engineer letter in the board packet,\r\nwithout LAKE having to squeeze those things out of them.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nVerizon is also offering an out for the Greater Lowndes Planning Commission (GLPC):\r\nsend the case to ZBOA.\r\nIf the Valdosta-Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals denies, it, presumably it’s done for.\r\nBut if ZBOA approves it,\r\nthey send it back to GLPC to deal with again.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe other county case this month is for a small subdivision on Old State Road.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThere’s one Hahira case, on Old Stagecoach Trail,\r\nfor a setback variance to build an addition on the back of their residence.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nStaff like the first Valdosta case, to establish consistent zoning across the entire parcel, on East Park Avenue.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nBut staff recommend denial of the other Valdosta case,\r\nfor a Planned Development at Cherry Creek Road and Lake Laurie Drive,\r\nfinding it inconsistent three ways with city standards.\r\n<\/p>
