\r\nSomething we’d been told for many weeks would never happen may happen Tuesday:\r\nthe Lowndes County Commission will vote on a Data Center Moratorium,\r\nas promised by\r\n\r\na county announcement Friday<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nDoes this mean no datacenters?\r\nOf course not.\r\nIt’s just a delay of 60 days, while the county works on its datacenter ordinance.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nBut it’s some small sign that maybe the county is listening to the many people\r\nwho have proposed a moratorium.\r\nAs recently as July 28<\/a> we were told Lowndes County will not be doing a moratorium.\r\nNow it’s on the agenda.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nWe still see no indication of any planned Public Hearings for the draft datacenter ordinance,\r\nand nobody outside the county government has seen any draft, so far as I know.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThey will also be setting the milage rates, with a rollback for the county-wide millage,\r\nand the same as usual for VLPRA, VLCIA, and Fire Services.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThey will vote on two TIA items, one for Twin Lakes Road,\r\nand three items about a CDBG-DR funding application.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nAnd, finally, a complicated bid solution for Land Application System (LAS) Holding Pond Sludge Removal.\r\n<\/p>
