\r\nWe have no further confirmation of this, since\r\nthe county has not yet posted its agenda for next week in their\r\nAgenda Center<\/a>,\r\nand they have not yet responded to LAKE’s open records request for the board packet.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nActually, at least one County Commissioner confirms this moratorium should be on the agenda for Tuesday.\r\nAnd probably also the animal ordinance.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nMaybe Lowndes County is finally going to catch up to Brooks and Cook Counties and the City of Adel and many more Georgia counties,\r\nas well as Madison and Citrus and many other Florida counties,\r\nwhich have already passed datacenter moratoriums.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nLowndes County, Georgia<\/strong>: The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners\r\nwill consider a proposed moratorium on data centers in\r\nunincorporated Lowndes County during its Regular Session Meeting on\r\nTuesday, August 25, 2026.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nIf approved, the moratorium would be in place on an interim basis\r\nwhile the County develops a comprehensive data center ordinance for\r\nconsideration and approval by the Lowndes County Board of\r\nCommissioners.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
