\r\nThe bulk of this long meeting was not on the agenda: another one cent sales tax,\r\na report about services at Leila Ellis, and eight citizens wishing to be heard.\r\nWell, those citizens were collectively on the agenda of the Tuesday evening Regular Session of the Lowndes County Commission, but the other two items were not.\r\n

\r\nBy far the longest item at 21 minutes was added to the agenda<\/a> at the beginning of\r\n
\r\n\r\n7.f. LHOST Consideration, SB 33 Special Local Homestead Option Sales Tax<\/a>\r\nThe title is my guess; I think Chairman Bill Slaughter just said LHOST.\r\n

\r\nThe thirteen slides County Manager Paige Dukes presented are\r\n\r\non the LAKE website<\/a>,\r\nreceived in response to a LAKE open records request.\r\nImages of each slide are below.\r\n

\r\nWe do not yet have the draft legislation the Commissioners unanimously approved\r\nsending to the Georgia legislature to enact this additional one cent sales tax,\r\nbecause I didn’t think to request it until this afternoon.\r\nWhy the slides and the legislation are not on the county’s own website is mysterious.\r\n

\r\nThey approved everything else unanimously, including reappointing James Ramsey and appointing Gary Wisenbaker to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals<\/a>: his brother Commissioner Mark Wisenbaker recused himself.\r\n

\r\nThey appointed James Warren to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThey reappointed Andy Griffin and Scott Purvis to the Lowndes County Public Facilities Authority<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThe longest regular item discussion at almost seven minutes was of the\r\nIndustrial Authority Series 2026 Bonds<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAnother long item (almost six minutes) not on the agenda occured when as part of the\r\nCounty Manager Report<\/a>\r\nPaige Dukes asked \r\nProbation Director Ferlisha Rountree to talk about about services at Leila Ellis<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nSix citizens spoke about the potential datacenter on Coleman Road:\r\nGeorge Fisher<\/a>,\r\nJimmy LeFiles<\/a>,\r\nJohn Smith<\/a>,\r\nAmy Wiegenstein<\/a>,\r\nSarah Riggle<\/a>,\r\nand\r\nSuwannee Riverkeeper John S. Quarterman<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAlso, Skyler Ramen(sp?) said his paycheck increases less than rent does<\/a>\r\nand\r\nRobert Willis would like speed bumps on Danieli Drive in Lake Park<\/a>.\r\n
