{"id":2568,"date":"2010-11-10T06:36:09","date_gmt":"2010-11-10T11:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2010\/11\/vdt-on-doj-at-sclc.html"},"modified":"2010-11-10T06:36:09","modified_gmt":"2010-11-10T11:36:09","slug":"vdt-on-doj-at-sclc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2010\/11\/vdt-on-doj-at-sclc.html","title":{"rendered":"VDT on DoJ at SCLC"},"content":{"rendered":"Reading the VDT&#8217;s editorial yesterday morning,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/opinion\/x104131246\/DOJ-s-lack-of-Judgment\">\nDOJ\u2019s lack of Judgment<\/a>,\nI noticed this:\n<blockquote>\nGiven this era of YouTube, Internet blogs, and citizen journalists,\nwe have to ask why only credentialed members of the media were asked to leave?\n<p>\nSome of the people in attendance during Sunday&#8217;s meeting have\nopenly identified themselves in the past as active Internet bloggers.\n<\/blockquote>\nFor example when I stood up in the row behind the VDT reporter\nand identified myself as taking videos for LAKE for posting on the web?\nThe editorial continues:\n<blockquote>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j6yjgPqBHv8\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i3.ytimg.com\/vi\/j6yjgPqBHv8\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nAny one of the people in attendance could have recorded the DOJ&#8217;s\nresponses and posted them,\nbut the DOJ didn&#8217;t ask to collect people&#8217;s cell phones.\n<\/blockquote>\nI also said that due to the sensitive nature of the subject,\ninstead of LAKE&#8217;s usual policy of videoing and posting everything\nthat seemed interesting at a public meeting,\nat this meeting I was only videoing people who asked to be videoed.\nIt wasn&#8217;t the DoJ&#8217;s responses that were sensitive\n(they said hardly anything after their introduction):\nit was what the people in the audience had to say.\n<p>\nI asked &#8220;the female DOJ attorney&#8221;, as the VDT calls her,\n\n<!--more-->\nif it would interfere with what she was doing in any way if I posted\nthe video of her introduction on the web. She said no, and handed\nme her card. Here&#8217;s the video,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j6yjgPqBHv8\">\nwith her name, Allison R.
