\r\nCould be a record: an hour and 14 minutes for Tuesday’s Lowndes County Commission Regular Session.\r\n

\r\nAfter many months, they had\r\n\r\nRecognition of return of Commissioner Joyce Evans<\/a>.\r\nShe is clearly still recovering from her medical issues,\r\nbut Commissioner Demarcus Marshall wheeled her in.\r\nShe didn’t say anything then, but, then, she seldom does.\r\nShe did thank them\r\n\r\nat the end of the meeting<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThe did not reappoint incumbent Tommy Willis to the\r\n\r\nPlanning Commission<\/a>.\r\nInstead they appointed John “Mac” McCall by a vote of 3-2.\r\nAs near as I can tell, Commissioners Mark Wisenbaker and Demarcus Marshall were the 2.\r\n

\r\nBy acclamation they reappointed incumbent Felicia Williams to the\r\n\r\nLowndes County Board Of Assessors<\/a>.\r\nNobody even nominated Gretchen Quarterman.\r\nMs. Williams\r\n\r\nlater spoke about the Tax Commissioners in Citizens Wishing to Be Heard<\/a> (CWTBH).\r\n

\r\nMr. Gary Wisenbaker was appointed to the\r\n\r\nLowndes County Library Board<\/a> after he recused himself from the vote.\r\n

\r\nThe seat reserved for Wild Adventures on the\r\n\r\nValdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center And Tourism Authority<\/a>\r\nhad a new WA General Manager appointed:\r\nDonald Spiller III.\r\n

\r\nThe meeting length was because of many agenda items, some postponed from last month,\r\nsome because there’s only one Regular Session in each of November and December,\r\nand some year-end items.\r\n

\r\nThe only item that took more than ten minutes was \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n7.b. REZ-2025-16 2480 Copeland Rd, ~18ac, R-10\/C To R-10<\/a>.\r\nThey approved it 3:2. Commissioner Mark Wisenbaker voted against\r\nbecause he did not like two entrances onto Copeland Road.\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall also voted against.\r\nI thought it was county policy not to approve any subdivision that\r\ndid not<\/em> have two entrances.\r\nBut I’ve never seen that policy in writing.\r\n

\r\nThey approved the other rezoning unanimously:\r\n\r\n7.c. REZ-2025-17 Shiloh Road, ~8.2 Ac 6641 Shiloh Road, E-A To R-A.<\/a>\r\n

\r\nThey tabled\r\n\r\n8.b. Abandonment Of Grice Road<\/a>,\r\nfrom concern about creating a land-locked non-conforming lot.\r\n

\r\nThey approved everything else unanimously, including\r\n\r\n8.h. Design-Build Contract For Lowndes County Animal Shelter<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAlso in CWTBH,\r\n\r\nRobert Niewoonder of 4027 Liska Circle had some complaints<\/a> about Waste Management garbage collection.\r\n
