\r\nAt the Tuesday evening Work Session, the Lowndes County Commissioners approved everything unanimously.\r\n

\r\nThey chatted quite a bit about\r\n\r\n6.a. Demolition for Lowndes County Fire Rescue Station 3<\/a>.\r\nApparently the old Rascals did come with some equipment in the kitchen,\r\nalthough County Manager Paige Dukes declined to call it kitchen equipment.\r\n

\r\nOn the\r\n\r\n5.c. GEFA Loan for Lift Station Bypass Pumps<\/a>\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted clarification that this was for sewage, not other kinds of water. Answer: yes.\r\n

\r\nIn\r\n\r\n7. Reports \u2013 County Manager<\/a>\r\nshe had \r\nEMA Director Ashley Tye talk about remaining federal funds promised\r\nbut not yet received.\r\nThe big batch will not qualify for the relaxed timeline for budgeting,\r\ndue to how late it is.\r\n

\r\nShe also had Fire Chief Billy Young talk about fire safety in this dry season,\r\na topic the Commissioners continued to discuss for a bit.\r\n

\r\nIn Citizens Wishing to Be Heard,\r\n\r\nSteve Schreck<\/a> apologized if the shirt he wore\r\nMonday morning offended anyone. The Chairman had told him after that Work Session never to come back wearing that shirt.\r\nSchreck talked about a display near him that children could see, which he said\r\nwas at least equally offensive.\r\nHe asked for an ordinance banning public obscenity.\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans remained absent due to\r\n\r\n health reasons.\r\nCommissioners Demarcus Marshall and Michael Smith are perhaps tied for asking the most questions.\r\nFinance Director Stephanie Black was not present.\r\nThe two finance issues were handled by Deputy Director Rachel Bowen:\r\n\r\n5.a. Beer – Wine License \u2013 Tara Kay Middleton of RaceTrac Inc<\/a> and\r\n\r\n6.b. Bid for Bemiss Road Right of Way Mowing<\/a>.\r\n
