Oregon is joining the\ntrend, thanks to regulations that took effect Jan. 1.\n
\nThe\nPortland branch of a national solar company unveiled a lease\nprogram<\/A> Tuesday enabling homeowners to put up panels\nfor low monthly payments, cutting their electricity bills\nand carbon footprints. At least one other contractor, a local\ncompany, is developing similar products.\n\nManagers of SolarCity<\/A>, a California-based\ncompany, say Oregon homeowners can go solar for as little as $20\na month with no up-front costs.
