\r\nTwo citizens spoke at the Lowndes County Commission Regular Session.\r\n\r\nGretchen Quarterman about water wells<\/a>, including private wells\r\ngetting contaminated since Hurricane Helene, or running dry,\r\nand expenses of testing and well drilling.\r\nCommissioners actually discussed afterwards that you can take a water sample\r\nand get Public Health to test it.\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Commissioners appointed Scottie Orenstein, Joe Brownlee, and Rob Green\r\nto the\r\n\r\nLowndes County Development Authority<\/a>,\r\nwhich apparently never meets.\r\nThen they also\r\n\r\nreappointed<\/a> Jerome Tucker and Barry Green<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThey reappointed Michael Walker and J.D. Rice to the\r\n\r\nLowndes County Public Facilities Authority<\/a>.\r\nThen they also appointed Lowndes County Commissioner Mike Smith\r\nto succeed Clay Griner, and Andy Griffin to succeed Crawford Powell.\r\nThey also clarified the when each term will end.\r\n

\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter\r\n\r\nrecommended that Commissioners should<\/a>\r\nget a list of boards and their meeting dates and times so they\r\ncan attend an learn things.\r\nThis is good advice for citizens in general.\r\n

\r\nThe Commissioners approved everything else unanimously.\r\n

\r\nCounty Manager Paige Dukes’s\r\n\r\nReports<\/a> lasted almost ten minutes,\r\nincluding Fire Department people speaking.\r\n
