Plan contract @ LCC Work 2025-07-21<\/a>.\r\n<p>\r\nThe Lowndes County Commission this Monday and Tuesday will consider and decide\r\non many appointments to two boards, and two Juvenile Justice grants.\r\n<p>\r\nThe county is also outsourcing part of its five-year Comprehensive Plan Update to the Southern Georgia Regional Commission (SGRC), for $30,000.\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%;font-style:italic\">\r\n<a title=\"Collage @ LCC Packet 2025-07-21\" name=\"MMM:Collage-LCC-Packet-20250721\" href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/2025-07-21--packet\/many.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/2025-07-21--packet\/many.jpg\"  alt=\"[Collage @ LCC Packet 2025-07-21]\"><\/a>\r\n<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/2025-07-21--packet\/many.html\">Collage @ LCC Packet 2025-07-21<\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nLowndes County is still fixing problems from Hurricane Helene,\r\nthis time at the Blue Lake Lift Station.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\nIn\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2016\/09\/appointment-to-bhdd-usgs-ga-122-little-river-gage-3-lift-station-pumps-lcc-2016-09-26.html\">September 2016<\/a>\r\n they replaced a pump there for no-bid $43,959.\r\n<li>\r\nIn\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2020\/06\/packet-2-appointments-2-rezonings-lift-station-drainage-facilities-lcc-2020-06-08.html\">June 2020<\/a>\r\nthey did a $71,789 no-bid emergency repair there due to corrosion.\r\n<li>\r\nIn \r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2021\/10\/sewer-improvements-water-for-subdivision-sprawl-library-lcc-2021-10-11.html\">\r\nOctober 2021<\/a>\r\nthey applied for\r\n$700,000\r\n from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)\r\nfor\r\n&#8220;Permanent bypass pumps at lift station&#8221; for\r\nBevel Creek,\r\nWhitewater,\r\nHeart road,\r\nBlue Lake,\r\nHighway 84,\r\nand\r\nFrances Lake,\r\nas well as\r\n $300,000\r\nfor &#8220;On-Site Crane\/ Hoist lift station&#8221; for Whitewater, Frances Lake, and Blue Lake,\r\nall at the recommendation of Carter &#038; Sloope.\r\n<li>\r\nIn <a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2022\/06\/packet-petitions-and-letters-against-rezonings-lcc-2022-06-16.html\">\r\nJune 2022<\/a>\r\nthey approved an apparently no-bid agreement with Carter &#038; Sloope:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;The scope of work at the County\u2019s lift station is two-fold. A permanent bypass pump will be\r\ninstalled at the following six (6) lift stations: Bevel Creek, Whitewater, Heart Road, Blue Lake,\r\nHighway 84, and Frances Lake. The bypass pump will serve as the station\u2019s\r\nbackup\/redundancy method if the primary pumping failed at any time. The new pump will be\r\nconnected to the existing wet well and force main at the station on a concrete housekeeping\r\npad. Where necessary based on location, the pump can be installed in an enclosure to reduce\r\nsound (i.e. if near a residential neighborhood). Electrical and controls will be installed on site\r\nwith the new pump. Of the 6 stations, the following three (3) will also be retrofitted with an on-\r\nsite crane\/hoist system: Whitewater, Frances Lake, and Blue Lake.
