Update 2025-06-11<\/strong>:\r\nHalf a million or zero dollars for the bar Lowndes County bought with no agenda item? 2024-07-09<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nIn Citizens Wishing to be Heard,\r\n\r\nGretchen Quarterman spoke about Transparency and the purchase of Rascals<\/a>,\r\nwondering why Lowndes County Commission approval of that purchase was not a lot more visible, instead of being recorded only in Minutes as a vote that took place after an Executive Session and everybody else had left.\r\nSee below for more detail.\r\n

\r\n\r\nKelly Saxon spoke about affordable housing<\/a>,\r\nincluding asking for a town hall and a telephone contact.\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Commissioners at their Regular Session last night\r\nadded an item,\r\n\r\nChairman – Add agenda item to repair Hahira Health Dept (8b)<\/a>.\r\nThat’s more than they did for the Rascal’s purchase back in July 2024.\r\nMore on that in a later post.\r\n

\r\nLast night, they\r\nunanimously approved all the agenda items, including reappointing\r\nthe incumbents to the two boards.\r\n

\r\nNobody spoke against either of the two rezonings.\r\n

\r\nFor\r\n\r\n7.b. Purchase of one (1) Sutphen Heavy Duty Custom Pumper<\/a>,\r\nthey mentioned that prices had doubled, and locking in a price\r\nnow would avoid further price increases.\r\n

\r\nIn her Reports, County Manager Paige Dukes recognized\r\n\r\nKellerman Construction and Jimmy Cone<\/a> for their work on\r\n\r\n8.a. Bid – A New Facility for Lowndes County Fire Rescue No. 4<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nEarlier, Chairman Bill Slaughter called for Leadership Lowndes to be recognized, but, maybe for the first time ever,\r\n\r\nthere were none<\/a> present.\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall was absent from this meeting.\r\n
