\r\nVincent Miller wants to be reappointed to the Parks and Rec Board.\r\nLynn Orenstein would like to be reappointed to the board of Lowndes County Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS).\r\nSamuel Clemons has applied to be on each of those boards.\r\n

\r\nPlus almost $6 million dollars will be decided this week by the Lowndes County Commission, for a pump truck and a station for Fire Rescue.\r\n

\r\nAbout the\r\nPurchase of one (1) Sutphen Heavy Duty Custom Pumper<\/a>:\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Fire Department requests approval to proceed with the\r\npurchase of one (1) Sutphen Heavy Duty Pumper. This apparatus will be placed in service at Station #9\r\n(Westside) and is essential to maintaining operational readiness. Sutphen was selected based on the ability to\r\nmeet the department’s specific operational and maintenance needs. The apparatus and equipment being\r\npurchased will be completed within approximately 36-38 months with receipt of approval.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nAbout that\r\nNew Facility for Lowndes County Fire Rescue No. 4<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n

\r\nHISTORY, FACTS AND ISSUES: A new facility for Lowndes County Fire Station No. 4 is a 13,296 sq.ft. building\r\nthat is proposed to be constructed at 4111 Stewart Circle. The new facility includes Fire Rescue living quarters,\r\nEMS living quarters, 4 truck bays, and all site work. Lowndes County Fire Rescue currently operates out of the\r\nolder volunteer station located at 4007 Old US 41 North. This location is temporary and not intended for long-\r\nterm use. The new station is the next step in the previously approved expansion plan for Lowndes County Fire\r\nRescue.\r\n

\r\nStaff opened bids on May 23, 2025 and received five bids.\r\n
