\r\nThe agenda is so light the Lowndes County Commission cancelled the Work Session,\r\nand are going straight to voting in the Regular Session, 5:30 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024.\r\n

\r\nThey’re finally going to get some income for the failed subdivision they bought between Walker’s Crossing and Banks Lake,\r\nand they’re buying the old Georgia Power building from VSU for $2,156,000.\r\n

\r\nThe “VSU South Campus Property” is the old Georgia Power building at\r\n901 N Patterson Street and apparently most of the rest of the block.\r\n

\r\nThe location of the hurricane debris removal sounded familiar.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nDRC Engineering Services, LLC is a hurricane debris removal\r\ncontractor of the Georgia Department of Transportation. It has asked\r\nto use approximately five acres of County owned property located at\r\n7404 Ga. Highway 122 East for hurricane debris management purposes.\r\nIt has agreed to pay the County $3500 per month for use of the\r\nproperty. The proposed agreement is attached.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nAh, yes, the property the county \r\n\r\nbought for $568,971 in February 2022<\/a>\r\nbecause\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nthe county apparently got sued<\/a>\r\nfor not telling a developer that\r\n\r\nin the Moody Activity Zone (MAZ)<\/a>.\r\n
