\r\n\r\nMillage Public Hearing Meeting and Adoption Meeting \/ September 26,\r\n2024 \/ CANCELLED<\/a><\/H4>\r\n\r\nThe Lowndes County Board of Commissioners is postponing the Millage\r\nPublic Hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 5:00\r\np.m. as well as the Special Called Meeting for the Adoption of the\r\nMillage Rate which was scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024 at\r\n5:30 p.m. due to Hurricane Helene.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
\r\nThese meetings will be rescheduled at a later date.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nAnd that cancellation announcement resolves the question we posed of\r\n\r\nhow was the Commission to approve the budget<\/a>,\r\ngiven there was no meeting scheduled for that?\r\n\r\nI don’t see a Public Notice anywhere for that Special Called Meeting.\r\nOf course, state law merely requires the notice to be sent to the local\r\nlegal organ of record (The Valdosta Daily Times).\r\nThe law does not require that the notice actually get posted.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
\r\nSo apparently they cancelled a Special Called Meeting without the public having seen a notice that it had been called.\r\n
