\r\nAn hour-long Regular Session is very unusual for the Lowndes County Commission.\r\nMuch of it was taken up by two rezonings:\r\n\r\nREZ-2024-08 on River Road<\/a>\r\n(10:43)\r\nand\r\n\r\nREZ-2024-09 Dasher Grove Subdivision<\/a> (12:24).\r\nFor River Road, the applicant discussed setbacks and fire trucks and answered Commissioner questions about house prices and lot sizes.\r\nFor Dasher Grove, Commissioner questions were mostly about how many lots and when T-SPLOST road work on Val Del Road would take place.\r\nRemember, that road work is your tax dollars going to subsidize subdivisions.\r\n

\r\nNobody spoke against those rezonings nor against any of the others.\r\nAll the rezonings and everything else passed unanimously, including\r\nthey reappointed \r\nHospital Authority<\/a> incumbent Shirley Garland as expected.\r\n

\r\nThere was discussion about the apparent price rise by\r\n\r\n8.b. Pronto Consulting<\/a>\r\nfor Software as a Service to manage probationers.\r\nIt is actually just that Pronto started with a discount,\r\nand this time is not supplying a discount.\r\nThe total undiscounted amount was always in the county budget.\r\n

\r\nIn Citizens Wishing to Be Heard,\r\n\r\nMark Perkins of Lake Park<\/a> had some questions about the burn ordinance.\r\n

\r\nAlso, Representative John LaHood (R-175)\r\n\r\nwas recognized by the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG)<\/a>\r\nfor his work on legislation regarding Service Delivery Strategies.\r\n
