\r\nThey meet again this morning at 8:30 AM for their Work Session<\/a>,\r\nand Tuesday at 5:30 PM for their voting Regular Session.\r\n

\r\nTheir Regular Session two weeks ago would have been very brief,\r\nexcept for\r\n\r\n the obligatory call-out to\r\nLeadership Lowndes<\/a>\r\nby Chairman Bill Slaughter, and three times citizens spoke.\r\n

\r\nIn\r\n\r\n5. Public Hearing b. TXT-2024-01 ULDC Amendments<\/a>,\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted to know whether the 10 minutes for each side to speak in Public Hearings was a maximum.\r\nAnswer: the 10 minutes minimum is required by state law,\r\nand the Chairman can allow more.\r\n

\r\nSpeaking in favor of these amendments,\r\nI complimented County Planner JD Dillard on bringing the county into the 21st century\r\nby requiring all submissions in electronic form, instead of paper, vellum, or blueprints.\r\nAnd I suggested the county put such documents, especially the board meeting packets, which are already electronic, on the county’s own website.\r\n

\r\nIn\r\n7. Citizens Wishing to be Heard,\r\n\r\nGeorge Conarroe spoke about his drainfield<\/a>,\r\nand the Chairman redirected him to the county health department.\r\n

\r\nI\r\nthanked the county<\/a> for their cooperation in the\r\nWWALS Chairman and Mayor’s Paddle, especially Public Works for grading the entrance road to Langdale Park.\r\nEarlier when I was talking to the Chairman he indicated the early takeout at Sugar Creek was a bit difficult due to a deadfall.\r\nSo I mentioned that once the water gets low enough, we’ll work on that and other deadfalls,\r\nbut meanwhile our chainsaws don’t work well underwater.\r\nI requested suggestions for when in March 2025 to hold the next one.\r\nI said WWALS has recently acquired a jon boat and outboard, and we’d be\r\nhappy to take people out on the river, including Commissioners.\r\n
