\r\nLowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk made a rare appearance to answer questions about the Speed Zone Ordinance,\r\nat the Lowndes County Commission Work Session yesterday morning.\r\n

\r\nThe longest item was\r\n\r\n7.d. Georgia County Internship Program Grant for Summer 2024 Grant Period<\/a>\r\nat three and a half minutes.\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans had some questions, which were mostly inaudible.\r\n

\r\nSecond longest was\r\n\r\n4. Georgia 811 Safe Digging Month Proclamation<\/a>,\r\nat more than two minutes.\r\n

\r\nCounty Manager Paige Dukes mentioned that people were getting frusted\r\nwith Deep South Sanitation<\/del> Advanced Disposal Services (ADS) customer service since it was moved upstairs\r\nto Waste Management.\r\nHowever, she had no suggestions for changes this year to the\r\n\r\n7.f. Advanced Disposal Services Residential Solid Waste Franchise Renewal<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nInstead of her\r\n\r\nReports<\/a>,\r\nthe County Manager requested an executive session to discuss real estate transactions, and they moved into that session.\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Commissioners vote tonight at 5:30 PM.\r\n

\r\nI’m not exactly sure how many time the county \/ industrial authority\r\n\/ taxpayers have to pay for property. This seems not quite right to\r\nme and I’d love to have someone (from the government) explain\r\nexactly why this was necessary. I like the food bank and all, and it\r\ndoes good work but this property purchase \/ lease seems odd. Exactly\r\nwhat rule is being skirted.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
