Only by listening\nto these two radio stations; will VOTERS know; what will be discussed\nbefore the meeting; and what actions were taken on the issues.  While the\nMAJORITY of VOTERS appears to be treated as zero, and it should make\nthose politically connected feel proud.\n<\/blockquote>\nIn the previous council meeting, some council members and staff\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/01\/after-all-the-citizens-left-valdosta-city-council-20-jan-2011.html\">\nexpressed concern that citizens were using council meetings for theatrics.<\/a>\nYet mayor and council themselves have never shyed away from\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.okraparadisefarms.com\/blog\/2009\/01\/valdosta-aeterna.html\">\ntheatrics such as the mayor&#8217;s State of the City speech.<\/a>\nTwo years ago at that one,\n&#8220;At the citizens wishing to be heard section, nobody came forward.&#8221;\nCouncil should be happy at the increased citizen input.\n<p>\nGeorge continued:\n<blockquote>\nUnlike those that addresses the council; but are said on radio to be:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>\nPerforming theatrics.\n<li>\nPromoting their own agenda.\n<li>\nPolitical posturing.\n<li>\nBeing racially motivated.\n<li>\nSeeking to gain financial benefits etc.,\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\nWe saw a few weeks ago that\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/01\/what-you-didnt-hear-at-the-county-commission-meeting.html\">\nmembers of the County Commission and staff also use radio for their own theatrics.<\/a>\n<p>\nGeorge has more to say, including this:\n<blockquote>\nFREEDOM of SPEECH; and of the PRESS is earned rights and traditions!
