\r\nIt turns out the board packet for today’s Lowndes County Commission meeting\r\ncontained little or nothing beyond the one-page agenda sheets for the four Bid items.\r\n

\r\nSo you actually learn more about those items from\r\nthe LAKE post with the agenda and bid documents<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nIn the Minutes for the Work Session of September 11 and for the\r\nRegular Session of September 12,\r\nabout REZ-2023-04 Chase, 6119 Quarterman Road, \r\nthe LAKE letter<\/a> is only alluded to as “a report from the opposition” in this passage:\r\n\r\n\r\n“When staff did the analysis, there are 131 properties\r\nthat have access to Quarterman Road, with an average lot size of 12.10 acres. Mr. Dillard stated\r\nthere is a report from the opposition challenging the number of parcels. Additionally, Mr. Dillard stated\r\nthere is a large discrepancy in acreage between all of these properties, some being under an acre,\r\nsome being one acre or more and some larger parcels over 150 acres. Mr. Dillard stated a petition\r\nwas signed in opposition and the addresses of those who have signed.”\r\n

\r\nThere is no mention of the WWALS letter<\/a>, which you may recall was not included in\r\n\r\nthe board packet for those sessions<\/a>, and instead I handed it to the Commissioners.\r\n

\r\nParis Stoeffler is mis-spelled as “Keri Stoeffler, 5869 Quarterman Road.”\r\nIt would have taken only a few seconds to look up that address in the summary table of the opposition petition signers that was sent to the county with the LAKE letter.\r\n

\r\nWhat each opposition speaker said in the Lowndes County Commission Regular Sesison\r\nis truncated to a sentence or two.\r\nFor example, there is no mention of what I said about neighbors calling the county fire department whenever I do prescribed burns, nor that more people would ust make that problem worse.\r\n

\r\nHowever, you have to wonder what is missing from other minutes (and board packets) of the Lowndes County Commission.\r\n

\r\nThe board packet for today’s session and the minutes from the previous sessions,\r\nreceived in response to a LAKE open records request,\r\nare\r\n\r\non the LAKE website<\/a>.\r\n
