\r\nNot on the\r\nagenda<\/a> for the Greater Lowndes Planning Commission (GLPC),\r\nand not in the\r\nboard packet materials<\/a>\r\nLowndes County sent in response to a LAKE open records request,\r\ninstead showing up under\r\nOther Business<\/a>,\r\nwere some updates to the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC).\r\n

\r\nFormer Lowndes County Planner Jason Davenport, rehired by the county as a consultant,\r\nsaid he gave the Planning Commission a list of a dozen ULDC amendments that would come before them\r\nnext month for a recommendation.\r\nThey included:\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. \r\na change to the number of criteria the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBOA) uses to decide variances\r\n
  2. \r\nautomatic adoption of state-required code changes\r\n
  3. \r\nchickens: when he left, he had no idea they would be so popular\r\n
  4. \r\ntime measurement\r\n
  5. \r\nsolar enforcement: this he said was the only lengthy one\r\n
  6. \r\nburn ordinance\r\n
  7. \r\nday care, due to state changes in definitions\r\n
  8. \r\ntree bank: a loophole for developers\r\n
  9. \r\npublic hearing procedures to be clarified to only apply to the County Commmission\r\n
  10. \r\nconservation subdivisions\r\n
  11. \r\nZBOA: state requires a staff contact person in case of appeal\r\n
  12. \r\nminor amendments: updating 2006 Word document headings, typos, etc.\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    \r\nHe said the document included a copy of the schedule of bringing these changes to the various bodies.\r\n

    \r\nHe indicated he expected such updates every six months.\r\n\r\n

    \r\nHow are the taxpayers citizens suppose to have input into a stealth ordinance change like that?\r\n
