\r\nYesterday the Lowndes County Commissioners had no discussion about\r\nwhat Chairman Bill Slaughter referred to as\r\n“One public hearing item that just will not go away.”\r\nThat’s\r\n\r\n7.a. REZ-2022-10 Campus Transitional Care, 2193 Howell Road, E-A to P-D<\/a>.\r\nThe Commissioners vote at the Regular Session this evening at 5:30 PM.\r\nThey can make it go away for at least a year by denying the rezoning.\r\n

\r\nOn \r\n8.b. Amend 2015 Solid Waste Ordinance<\/a>,\r\nGretchen remarked:\r\n“In my mind, it seems super inconvenient to shorten the hours of the collection sites on Monday and Friday. If someone works 8-5, then getting their recycling there by 6 is not possible. \r\n

\r\n“Oh, but this isn’t for the health, safety and well being of the citizens, \r\n\r\nit is for the convenience of the garbage companies. They are proposing to cut out 7 hours per week. I don’t know how much the people who sit at the collection sites make but the amount of savings is small, compared to the inconvenience of the citizens.”\r\n

\r\nThere was quite a bit of discussion about\r\n\r\n8.a. Probation Department Service Agreement<\/a>\r\n

\r\nNone of the candidates for the three boards showed up at this meeting.\r\n
