If you don\u2019t want that store in an agricultural area, attracting still more subdivisions still farther north in the county, call or write your county commissioner or come speak against at that meeting. project would compromise those small farmers.\r\nIncluding by expansion of small roads, which would be paid for by taxpayers, not developers.\r\n<p>\r\nAnd impact on the [Withlacoochee] river itself, which is only a few hundred yards away.\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nYou have a business there, it will increase the traffic,\r\nwhich will increase the amount of toxic fluids that will run off into the river.\r\n<p>\r\nThis will not only affect the wildlife, but also the drinking wells for many folks who live along the river,\r\nlike I do.\r\nThe river is literally my back yard.\r\n<p>\r\nAnd not just for the families, but for the livestock for the farmers that are all around those roads.\r\n<p>\r\nIn closing, I just want to say, that if this goes through, there will be nothing\r\nto stop other swathes of land along Skipper Bridge to become a landscape of cookie-cutter homes, just like Val Del.\r\n<p>\r\nAnd it&#8217;s forcing those families that have been out there that live in this area for generations,\r\nor those of us that are new like I am,\r\nthat we&#8217;re going to have an uphill battle against developers, and investors,\r\nwho will strip the land for profit.\r\n<p>\r\nAgain like we did on Val Del.\r\nIt&#8217;s an eyesore.\r\n<p>\r\nOnce we let the genie out of the bottle, there&#8217;s no going back.\r\n<p>\r\nI&#8217;m not a farmer, but I chose to raise my daughters here amongst the pines\r\nand the peacefulness of the Withlacoochee River.\r\nSo that they may learn to appreciate the beauty of rural living,\r\nand their responsibility to preserve it.\r\n<p>\r\nI would just like to end with this quote from Franklin Roosevelt.\r\n&ldquo;A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself.\r\nForests are the lungs of our land, purifying the
