{"id":2287,"date":"2011-03-23T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-23T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/03\/decatur-county-thinks-theyre-getting-the-cca-private-prison.html"},"modified":"2011-03-23T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2011-03-23T12:00:00","slug":"decatur-county-thinks-theyre-getting-the-cca-private-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/03\/decatur-county-thinks-theyre-getting-the-cca-private-prison.html","title":{"rendered":"Decatur County thinks it&#8217;s getting the CCA private prison"},"content":{"rendered":"Jeff Findley wrote in the Post-Searchlight on 25 January 2011 about\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepostsearchlight.com\/2011\/01\/25\/economic-activity-picking-up\/\">\nEconomic activity picking up<\/a>:\n<blockquote>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepostsearchlight.com\/2011\/01\/25\/economic-activity-picking-up\/\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.thepostsearchlight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/userphoto\/jefffindley.jpg\"><\/a>\nEngineers with Corrections Corporation of America, the private prison\ncompany that signed a memorandum of understanding almost a year ago with\nthe Authority to construct and operate a prison in the industrial park,\nwill be in Bainbridge on Feb. 18 to begin site work preparation.\n<p>\nOfficials from Decatur County and the Development Authority with meet\nwith CCA officials and tour the site where the prison will be located.\n<p>\n\u201cThey\u2019re anxious to get it going, but very guarded on making any\nkind of projections about when things might start, but all indications\nare it would be sooner rather than later,\u201d said McCaskill.\n<p>\nInitial projections have the capital investment by CCA in the neighborhood\nof $150 million and, when fully staffed, the facility would employ up\nto 600 people.\n<\/blockquote>\nFindley wrote that\nRick McCaskill is the\n&#8220;executive director of the\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bainbridgedecaturga.com\/\">\nDevelopment Authority of Bainbridge and Decatur County.&#8221;<\/a>\n<p>\nSo in Decatur County CCA has gone from an announcement\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/03\/cca-private-prison-in-decatur-county.html\">\nlast July<\/a>\nto a site visit six months later this January.\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/03\/competition-for-ccas-private-prison-roy-copeland.html\">\nAccording to Col.
