\r\nOn the agenda for tomorrow morning’s Lowndes County Commission Work Session,\r\ncounty staff included the petition against \r\nREZ-2022-03 Windy Hill Subdivision, 7532 Miller Bridge Rd.<\/a>.\r\nCounty staff note “RECOMMENDED ACTION: Board’s Pleasure or Deny”,\r\nunlike the other two options, where the second option is “Approve”.\r\nThose who do not want that rezoning to pass would do well to contact their Commissioners before the meetings, and then show up at the meetings,\r\nor at least the Tuesday 5:30 PM voting Regular Session.\r\n

\r\nFor\r\nREZ-2022-01 Hamilton Green Townhomes, Bemiss Rd., 045D 006A<\/a>, they cited a parcel that does not exist.\r\nThe correct parcel number, \r\n\r\n0145D 006A<\/a>, was in the\r\n\r\nPlanning Commission agenda<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAs usual, county staff say rezonings do not cost the county anything.\r\nNevermind that subdivisions far from county services will never pay enough\r\nin property taxes to fund sending school buses, fire trucks, and Sheriff vehicles,\r\nso all the taxpayers subsidize those costs.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nHere is the agenda<\/a>, and the board packet,\r\non the LAKE website<\/a>,\r\nreceived in response to a LAKE open records request.\r\nSee also\r\n\r\n the \r\nLAKE videos of the preceding Planning Commission meeting<\/a>,\r\nthe \r\nPlanning Commission Board Packet<\/a>,\r\nand the\r\n\r\nPlanning Commission agenda<\/a>.\r\nAnd maybe Lowndes County staff or Commissioners read \r\n\r\nSecrecy of Lowndes County Commission and Staff<\/a>.\r\nThere are links from the above back to the relevant previous appearances of the Miller Bridge Road rezoning when it was up for 1-acre lots,\r\nunlike the current request for 2.5 to 3-acre lots,\r\nwhich is still inappropriate in a Agriculture\/Forestry\/Conservation Character Area, no matter what they say is within some arbitrary distance “nearby”.\r\n
