Using industry-standard equipment,\nstudents will be educated to meet the manufacturing community\u2019s\nworkforce needs.\n<p>\nIn fact, the manufacturing community already is calling on the\ncenter. DaeLim, a supplier to Kia and Hyundai (the latter has a plant\nnearby in Alabama), expressed interest in students doing prototyping of\nplastic parts once the center, which opened June 1, is up and running.\n<p>\n\u201cWe\u2019ve left a good platform on which to build. We have good faculty,\ngood staff. I think we have good community relations,\u201d Gilley says of\nhis time at West Georgia. Then he looks to the future and what he\u2019ll\nmiss most about his job. \u201cWe offer programs that allow people to get\nbetter paying jobs.
