\n\n<\/a>\nNorman Bennett, VLCIA board member and former chairman of the Lowndes County Commmission,\n\nasked Corey Hull:<\/a>\n

\nCan you explain that again for me about the penalties if the voters don’t pass the tax?\nIf the county’s got a project, then they’ve got to put up ten percent\nor whatever the percentage is?\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\nCorey Hull answered:\n
\nYeah, if they’re using their LMIG funds, which is the state funding the counties\nand cities receive,\nif the voters did not approve the tax, the local governments must\nmatch their projects and raise thirty percent.\n<\/blockquote>\nUpdate 4:45 PM 4 April 2011: Corey Hull filled in the words I couldn’t transcribe and explained LMIG is\n\nLocal Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program<\/a>.\n
